The Corporate Services Departments primary role is as a support department for the Mayor and the Elected Members of the Council in the exercise of its functions.
The department also has administrative responsibilities for the Manager and the Corporate Management Team and is forefront in the modernisation process of this local authority, improvements in communications, operations and efficiency in the delivery of service to the Customer. It has the co-ordinating role in the production of the Council's Corporate Plan, and monitoring the implementation of its objectives.
Good communications is essential to any large organisation and the department has a strong focus on our relationship with our customers, using web enabled and IT based applications in tandem with statutory publications, circulars and newsletters to encourage interaction and feedback.
Corporate Services is also involved in the promotion of the Council and has a strong relationship with our media contacts both in the area of accommodating enquiries on topics of interest but also through continuous production of promotional material in a wide variety of formats.
Civic Events and functions of the Council are managed by the Corporate Services Department as part of the promotional role.
